Viral Prosciutto Caprese Sandwich

This sandwich is the epitome of a savory lunch.
Lucious burrata melted onto toasted sourdough... Sweet heirloom tomatoes, and smoky layered prosciutto make this the ultimate sandwich.
It’s also the sandwich that made me TikTok famous with over six million combined views.
Here’s how to make it-
Ingredients:
2 slices of sourdough bread
3 Tbsp pesto (store- bought is fine)
1 ball of burrata cheese
1 thinly sliced heirloom tomato
6 slices of thinly shaved prosciutto
1/3rd cup baby arugula or mixed greens
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste.
(Makes 1 Serving)
Instructions:
Toast the sourdough bread until golden brown, then immediately spread pesto onto both pieces.
On one slice of bread, add the burrata cheese, sliced in half, allowing the cheese to evenly cover the surface of the bread.
On top of the burrata, add the sliced heirloom tomato, season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
Layer the prosciutto on top of the tomatoes.
Add on the arugula, then finish the sandwich by drizzling extra virgin olive oil.
Cover with the second piece of toasted bread, and enjoy!
Tips & Tricks
1.) There are many variations of this sandwich. A nice balsamic glaze is a beautifully sweet addition to this salty combination. I also made this sandwich for a collaboration I did with Spoon University X TABASCO® Brand in 2021, where I added TABASCO® Brand Chipotle Sauce on this sandwich. 2.) Water is the arch-enemy of any sandwich. To avoid water content, make sure after washing your arugula and tomatoes there is no residual moisture. Additionally, burrata cheese typically comes in water, so be sure to dry it before adding it to the bread.
